Let’s learn to see the sunny side of life, together!
Join us for Sunny Side Up to explore the connection between creativity and wellbeing. Using a range of playful and reflective techniques, we will experiment with how creative practice might help us feel calmer, more confident, and more resilient.
Creativity is proven to support overall wellbeing. We want to support young people to learn to use it to express themselves, understand themselves and find passionate hobbies that will allow them to build skills that will hopefully help them throughout the coming years, especially with the social media ban coming in to place.
This series of workshops invites young people to investigate expressing themselves, embracing their own unique personality and to understand how the brain is working; exploring their inner artist and building them up for a more confident future.
No prior art experience (or belief in your own “artistic skill”) is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to play. All materials are provided along with drinks options and biscuits (we try to supply a vegan/GF option while stocks last).
We ask that parents allow their children to explore these themes alone. Parents can stay nearby for the first 15 minutes if the child is particularly anxious and then we would ask that parents do leave. There is a cafe in the Hive if parents would like to stay close by.
It’s time to stop stressing and scrolling and start celebrating our unique creative selves.
Please note: we are not mental health professionals. If you require further mental health support, we encourage you to seek guidance from appropriate services. We can link you to local social prescribers or sign post to other support, please do request this information.
Artists Clubhouse has six years of experience working directly with people to support their confidence growth. Emily has written and delivered her series of playful workshops to a whole range of age groups, see improvement in both confidence in self alongside confidence in creativity. She is currently in the process of publishing a book of this series aimed at helping more people. If you are interested please do join our mailing list, which you will find at the bottom of each website page.
All Artists Clubhouse staff and helpers are DBS checked and we will do our best to support each childs individual needs. If your child has extra support needs please inform us via the booking form.
