Focussing on process-led practices, exploration of materials, and formal experimentation, Mediums of Failure aims to uncover how artists strive towards unachievable, imagined perfection but embrace and emphasise chance, experimentation, and ultimately failure as a means to create new avenues of artistic enquiry.
Mediums of Failure will challenge the concept of whether a work will ever be ‘complete’, ‘perfected’, or ‘finished’ and, alternatively, thinking of works as always being in a state of development and progress and that ‘perfection’ is an unachievable concept.
