HEKA JEWELLERY - WAX CARVING WORKSHOP
Date: 2 December
Time: 11 – 1.30pm (room needed 10.45 – 1.45pm)

Event Details:
Learn wax carving techniques for jewellery making in this relaxed and fun 2.5 hour workshop with Jo from HEKA Jewellery.

Jo is an award winning jewellery designer maker, and graduate of the Birmingham School of Jewellery who has worked as a bespoke fine jewellery designer for almost a decade.

Wax carving and lost wax casting is an age old technique in jewellery making. Learn how to shape wax into a ring of your own design, which can be cast into silver or gold afterwards and finished by Jo. Sculptural by nature you will be learning how to carve wax away from your blank or build wax up to make your design. There is no experience necessary, suitable for beginners and beyond

Students describe the workshop as meditative and relaxing to take part in 🙂 Working with your hands enables your mind to calm whilst you focus on the task. It’s a really accessible and enjoyable introduction to jewellery making!

All tools and materials provided, as well as tea and cake during the workshop. You will finish with a wax ring model ready to be cast if you choose.

Casting and finishing charge is an additional £35 payable on the day if you wish to, plus the weight in silver which is calculated by the weight of your piece on your day. This allows students flexibility on design and the size of their piece. Rings can be collected once finished or posted out to you

Please email hekajewellery@gmail.com with any queries, payment by bank transfer is just £35 per person or via the Eventbrite link who charge a fee on top of ticket prices for processing
