Fran Horne is a mixed media Artist-Maker based in Worcestershire. She trained at Winchester School of Art and graduated in 1999.
She has professionally exhibited locally, nationally and internationally for the past 28 years. Her work is centred around her life experience of disability in the UK and the exploration of hidden worlds, with her work sharing space with artist Frida Khalo’s and others in a national exhibition.
Working primarily in resin as a versatile medium, she’s also passionate about incorporating found objects for the inclusion of their own life history.
Fran has worked in Artist Books for 30 years and was part of an exhibition in Central London, the Library of Unpublished Books. She continues to explore her own experiences, particularly in healthcare, through her books.
She works in partnership with another Worcestershire Artist called Toft Laski. When working together they are known as Grimsy.
Fran lives in Malvern with her husband and daughter. She identifies as disabled and is also an ambulatory wheelchair user and is passionate about disability advocacy.
