This course will be run over two 2.5 hour sessions on the 8th Feb and 15th Feb Start time is 18:15pm – 20:45pm for both dates

 

Workshop Description:

During this two and half hour workshop you will learn the basics of fabric draping, which will enable you to go on and make a pattern on the stand and a garment of your own design.

 

Week 1:

Draping on the stand – This is how to make beautifully fitted garments come to life.

Unlike the traditional pattern cutting this is the a great way to learn how to create garments on a mannequin.

Work with fabric on the stand to pleat, stretch and manipulate until you have made a pattern.

 

Week 2:

You will then take the fabric to the sewing machine and make your draped garment come to life.

Learn all the techniques you need to understand how to carry this style of pattern creation on to future projects.

 

Info:

Plain fabric will be provided to help learn on the stand.

There will be a couple opf sewing machines avaible but bring your own if possible.

This class is sutable for beginners – From 14+

 

Workshop tutor:

Sophie studied BA Costume Contrsution and Design at Cardiff Univeristy then went on to work in flim and thearte. She now has her own Bridal Boutique in the centre of Worcester, where she makes bespoke bridal gowns. She enjoys bringing peoples designs and ideas to life through sharing her knowledge of dressmaking.
